Subaru recalls 2025 Forester Hybrid and 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid over fuel cap that may let fuel spill out

When the tank is nearly full and the weather warms up, fuel can expand and spill out of the filler neck because the fuel cap does not seal well, which could cause a fire if it meets a spark or flame.

What to do

Park outside and away from buildings, and keep the fuel level at or below 50% until the repair is done; dealers will replace the fuel filler cap gasket for free. Call Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 and quote recall number WRD-26.
